It seems that use of chastity cage is trending strongly among gay men these days. What is chastity and what is the story behind this trend among gay men?

You’ve seen one? Have you worn one perhaps? Or maybe sexual abstinence is not your thing? Or because you’re not into peeing sitting down and depriving yourself of boners? The mere thought of not being able to use your dick for sex maybe makes you cringe.
However, it sure makes others shiver with excitement! More and more gay men are learning to live a life without getting off. If you are curious to know what makes so many homosexuals practice chastity and “lock up” their penises, let us lead you into the uncharted territory of this trendy new kink.
Who was the first to wear them?
The history of the chastity device can be traced back to the Middle Ages. Primitive belts made of leather or metal were used by men on their wives. Something like a security measure so that the missus couldn’t cheat while the husband is fighting in a war. We can only imagine how clumsy, heavy and unhygienic these belts were. To not surprise they would lead to severe infections and even death. There is no any evidence to possible use of this device by gay men at that time.
The earliest authentic specimen of the devices date to 18th and 19th century. Today, chastity belts are often used in BDSM practices. The tables have turned though. It is now often gay dominant who hold the key to their submissive males’ devices. The practice is also adopted by gay fetishists who are into submission and body modification. Controlling your partner’s erection can feel great if you are that sort of a dominant gay guy. Also, a sub-community of straight men are reportedly using chastity belts as restraint to masturbating.
Within gay community, chastity cages have been gaining in popularity for the last five years. The first public photos of gay men wearing chastity cages appeared on Tumblr in 2015. Ever since then the internet has helped many gays to discover sexual abstinence and engage in it with soul and heart. And penis.
What are they, exactly?
Chastity cages are anatomically designed devices in which the penis is placed snugly. You close the padlock and give the key to your trusted partner. Of course, some men like acting solo. Obviously they put the cage on and off whenever they want.
The cages come in various styles – from solid, entirely leather to simple and light, ring formats. In sex shops, sales assistants will probably recommend you the stainless steel ones. They are more sanitary and easier to maintain without being taken off. However, for one-time, short-term play, silicone cages are the better choice, they would say. In any case it is really up to you to make sure your precious penis does not get infected.
And for those who are willing to spend a bit more on their kink, some opt for more sophisticated items which include anal plugs and even urethral sounding rods. Chastity belts can be open-ended (the head is exposed, allowing stimulation), partly closed, and completely closed (no stimulation is possible, and the cage needs to be removed for peeing).
What do they do to the body?
Simply put, chastity cages are a form of orgasm control. The physiological effect chastity cages have on the wearer is of preventing him from masturbating, receiving oral or penetrating. Many of those who use them on a regular basis share that depriving themselves of orgasm increases the sexual desire.
So, what happens is that after wearing the thing for some time, your dick will try to get hard even at the sight of a bare knee or a shoulder. It cannot happen, though. As you can’t orgasm, the levels of dopamine in your system are not dropping, and the feeling you get imitates the one of being high. The “professionals” know how to enjoy that sensation of being incredibly aroused without getting frustrated.
As for the practical side, wearing a cage all the time affects the way you walk and urinate. On the bright side though, you have all this accumulated sexual energy that can’t be released. The cage can therefore also be a great tool of service to build an impressive body.
Why wear them?
Contrary to common beliefs, chastity cages are not only about dominance and control. There’s much more to this. Locking your penis is mostly a mental thing. Yes, some men would wear them as a token of their sacrifice to a significant other. By offering this someone the key to the device, they declare they don’t want to have a say in what’s going to happen. This type of control raises the stakes in a dominant/submissive relationship.
Cage-lovers report that the perks of this kind of experience is that it intensifies their sexual fantasies. They like the feminization aspect to it. They especially love the part when they have to sit down to pee. To them, wearing a cage is not as much about submissiveness to the “male” protagonist in the relationship, as it is about trust. Yeah, trust is very important part here. Particularly if you are using stainless steel ones. If your partner gets too upset and leave with the key you will need a help from a good locksmith.
Warranty and safety instructions
You must remember to take it off often for sanitation purposes. Do not forget to check your thunder junk for any rashes, cuts, and other worrying symptoms of infection. If you have a partner who is a key holder make sure you both agree on certain rules.
Maybe he can be the one that checks your penis? That would give some extra excitement to some. Or maybe it could be very exciting for you to be checked by him. Come on, don’t expect me to work all options out for you! Use your own imagination.
Always practice extreme caution and consult with experts before embarking on a new fetish journey! Good luck and have fun!

A hacker once used men’s electronic chastity cages to hold their penises to ransom
Recently, several fans of chastity cages almost found themselves in a bit of a tight spot, after a hacker took control of their electronic devices.
The men were using the Cellmate Chastity Cage. That is a chastity cage that can be locked by a trusted partner remotely over Bluetooth using a mobile app. However, it is not password protected, meaning it can easily be hacked.
The hacker seized control of a number of chastity cages and told men that they would have to pay him a fee in bitcoin, which totaled around $750 (£531) in order to regain control.
Luckily, the men weren’t wearing the devices at the time. Because chastity cages are locked with a metal ring underneath the user’s penis. It would likely have to be removed using a heavy-duty bolt cutter.
Security flaw left ‘smart’ chastity sex toy users at risk of permanent lock-in
Just because almost every gadget or appliance can be connected to the internet, doesn’t mean they should be. Outages can render these “smart” devices useless, and many use weak security that can make them easily hackable.
And as security researchers recently found out, the consequences of having a major security flaw in one popular sex toy could have been catastrophic for tens of thousands of users.
U.K.-based security firm Pen Test Partners said the flaw in the Qiui Cellmate internet-connected chastity lock, billed as the “world’s first app controlled chastity device,” could have allowed anyone to remotely and permanently lock in the user’s penis.
