What is Paris 2018 – Gay Games 10?

gay_games-paris-2018-news-logo-06Paris 2018, a Celebration of Diversity, is the 10th edition of the Gay Games, the biggest international sports and cultural event which is open to all (18 years or older).

Open to all amateurs, regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or health status, and based on each participant’s self-evaluation, Paris 2018 – Gay Games 10 welcomes all those who wish to participate, without any qualifications or eliminations.

From 4 to 12 August 2018, Paris 2018 will welcome 15,000 participants for a program of 36 sports, 14 cultural events, 2 ceremonies, and an academic conference.


What is the Paris 2018 Outreach program?

The Paris 2018 Outreach Program, also known as the Gay Games Scholarship Program, was created to offer scholarships to amateur athletes coming from disadvantaged areas, enabling them to participate in the Gay Games.  Thanks to the Gay Games Scholarship Program, more than 800 people have participated in the Gay Games since 1998.

We are issuing this appeal for donations to enable the participation in Paris 2018 of athletes who could not otherwise participate without these scholarships.




The objective is by the end of February 2017, to finance the first 20 scholarships of the Paris 2018 Outreach program, and to enable athletes coming from South Africa, Ivory Coast, Cambodia or other disadvantaged areas in the world to participate in Paris 2018-Gay Games 10.  We know that their lives will be forever changed, as experienced by participants in preceding Gay Games.

A donation of:

– 50€ covers the meals of a participant for 2 days

– 200€ covers the costs of registration (inscription) of a participant

– 800€ covers the accommodation expenses (hosting) and registration (inscription) of a participant

– 2,000€ covers the total participation of a participant: travel expenses of journey, accommodation (hosting), registrations (inscriptions), and meals.

Note: The Paris 2018 Association is a recognized by the French tax authorities as a ‘general interest’ organisation. Therefore, any donations over 15€ will be tax-deductible and will be acknowledged with a fiscal receipt, enabling donors to claim a tax deduction.
